Who We Are
Institute of Psychological and Educational Research (IPER) was set up in 1971 by Dr. Arun Ghosh, a noted author, educationist, and National Awardee on Child Welfare, Government of India, with the vision of integrating psychology and education to support holistic child development.
For over 55 years, IPER has been working with marginalized and under-served communities—especially children and women, with a strong focus on the girl child. IPER is FCRA registered, holds 80G tax exemption and CSR-1 registration, and follows strong Child Protection, Gender, and HR Policies.
IPER runs Day Care Centres for over 300 children in vulnerable communities and an Open Shelter “Swapnaneer” for 30 at-risk girls, providing education, nutrition, health care, psychosocial support, and protection. The organisation also bridges learning gaps, nurtures children’s talents through creative arts, offers mental health support, and conducts self-defense training.
Through its women’s programme “Aparajita”, IPER empowers women to build confidence, skills, and identity. Supported by government grants, limited CSR support, and a sponsorship programme for 60 children, IPER seeks like-minded partners to sustain and expand its impact.
