Child Rights

IPER is one of the pioneers in working with Child Rights. IPER often holds workshops and training on Child Rights. Sishu Panchayet, an early and one of the first such efforts was carried out by IPER with the support of UNICEF in Bishnupur Block of South 24 Parganas. The effort is going on with regular training and awareness on the UN Convention on Child Rights at different levels. In 1999 IPER organised a Seminar on Children 2000AD where representative from 60 countries around the globe attended.

Child Rights Day is celebrated every year on 20th of November to ensure the rights of all children. The day is observed through role plays, discussions, workshops, group work and demonstrations to identify the rights and ways of ensuring those rights.
