Natural calamities keep visiting the city of Kolkata almost every year like cyclones, lockdown during covid which affect large communities and affect the normal life of persons, especially for those who live on road-side shanties, in slums, and on the pavements. Covid 19 Pandemic took serious toll in the families especially those who lived on daily wages. IPER along with others like KFC, DLSA, SCPCR, and many philanthropic bodies distributed rations, clothing, beddings, and other daily needs to more than 3000 families. Cooked food too was distributed on a daily basis for a few weeks to needy families.
