With the government making it mandatory for corporate sector to participate in social activities as a part of their social responsibility (CSR) many Corporate Houses are participating in the social sectors by partnering with voluntary organizations working in the non-formal sectors.
IPER has partnered with The Times of India in their country-wide programme on ‘Teach India’ where volunteers were mobilized to teach children in IPER’s Learning Centres.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd supports us in a very big way. So are GKB Opticals, Tata Teleservices Ltd., Ericsson Global and SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Kolkata. Beside many other business houses carried out work in partnership with IPER. Many by short term activities like by contributing items of basic needs of children and undertaking services and events with them.
IPER is partnering with Geosatis Trust for more than three years in carrying out a Project on ‘Sports for Peace’. A group of children attending IPER is trained by the trainers of Geosatis Trust in self-defense and kick-boxing. The children attended several National and International competitions and worn gold, silver and bronze medals.
Kolkata Sanved an organisation specialising in Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) trains girls at IPER in DMT and is also training a few girls to be trainers of DMT.
IPER has also partnership with many other agencies as UWK, Soroptimist International of South Kolkata, Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta West and Mid Town, Rotary Club, IL&FS and several other agencies.
